About The Role:

The CEI Bridge and Roadway Inspector role involves field inspection and oversight of transportation construction projects across West Virginia, with a primary focus on bridge and roadway infrastructure. You'll be responsible for monitoring quality, compliance, and safety to ensure successful project execution in accordance with design specifications, environmental regulations, and contractual requirements.

* Project Oversight: Monitor daily construction activities such as land clearing, grading, paving, bridge work, and traffic control implementation.
* Material Testing: Collect construction material samples and perform basic field tests to ensure specification compliance.
* Documentation & Reporting: Maintain detailed inspection logs, track project progress, and report nonconformities or issues.
* Regulatory Compliance: Review erosion control measures and ensure environmental and safety standards are followed.
* Stakeholder Communication: Participate in project meetings and collaborate with contractors, engineers, and client representatives.

About You:

* You have a High School diploma/GED and 4+ years of highway construction or inspection experience
* OR you have a 2-year technical degree in Civil Engineering Technology or Surveying Technology with 2+ years of experience
* OR a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or Construction Engineering Technology
* You have or can obtain a WV TRET Certification within 6 months
* You have strong math and technical writing skills
* You have the ability to lift 40-50 lbs.

Are You Willing and Able to:

Perform the physical demands of the position with the use of company-provided Personal Protective Equipment such as:
* Working outdoors the majority of the time in varying weather conditions
* Walking over rough, uneven terrain and standing for potentially up to 12 hours a day
* Routinely lifting and carrying 40-50 lbs. (field/laboratory samples and equipment)
* Maneuvering field equipment safely, such as a loaded wheelbarrow, on uneven ground around active construction sites
* Exposure to highway traffic, heavy machinery, and occasional work on weekends and holidays
