Welder

HF Sinclair located in Artesia, NM is seeking a #1 Welder. (The Company reserves the right to hire a #2 in the event that a #1 is not available) The schedule is Monday thru Friday. Overtime as well as weekend on-call rotation is required.

Welder must be knowledgeable in piping layout, fabrication, and use of plasma and air arc cutting machines. Other duties required will be pipefitting, and in general any duties required to support and contribute to an efficient maintenance organization.

Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their supervisor, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion

Candidates must demonstrate a working knowledge of welding skills and must satisfactorily complete certification on the following procedures: Carbon Steel SMAW (manual stick rod), Low Alloy GTAW (heli-arc), Stainless Steel GTAW (heli-arc). Test results will be based on 100% radiography to B31.3 Severe.

A minimum of a High School degree or equivalent is required.

Good verbal/written communication, computer literate, good mathematical & problem solving skills, ability to read & interpret various instructions, procedures, rules, and regulations. Must have the ability to enter manways on towers, work in high places, and around high temperatures. Perform work of consistent quality and visual acuity (including color, depth perception, and field of vision). Team player, self starter, independent worker, good time management and analytical skills and priority setting ability.

Must be able to grip, hold, operate various power tools and make precise hand and finger movements. Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
