Engineering Technician I HX5 is an award-winning provider of engineering, research and development, and technical services to clients such as NASA and the Department of Defense. Founded in 2004, HX5 is a fast-growing veteran- and woman-owned company with locations nationwide. The 846 Test Squadron (846 TS) requires a Girder/Concrete maintainer to provide concrete, masonry, carpentry, electrical and wide range of handyman support to the test track maintenance. Fabricate specialized fixtures, structures, and equipment utilizing materials such as wood, concrete and other expendable materials. The HHSTT is the world premier rocket sled test facility. The 846 TS works with customers to design, develop and execute rocket sled tests specifically designed to simulate selected portions of the flight environment in support of the development of weapon systems and other flight hardware. The Applied Mechanics Flight (TGTM) at the 846TS is responsible for the design of Rocket Sled Tests to meet customer requirements, design and structural analysis of rocket sleds and rocket sled components, and design and analysis of rocket sled test support hardware and targets. The TGTM Flight is also responsible for all Electrical Engineering design, analysis, fabrication and test conduct. Test conduct consists of electrical and avionics systems support to include, setup, troubleshooting, and maintaining systems and capabilities for the 846 TS. In addition, TGTM supports in-house capability development and facility maintenance. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Complete all assigned work in progress and ensure engineering drawings, blueprints and sketches are followed. Maintains and repairs concrete girder structure such as patching, caulking and replacing damaged concrete sections. Maintains special test fixtures, structures, or equipment needed to accomplish current and future tests. Assist Test Readiness team for Mission prep/setup and clean up. Prepares and maintains braking and artificial atmosphere systems using items to include, Masonite, lay-flat water bags, plastic sheeting, foam, congealed water, aluminum, steel and other materials need for completing missions. Maintain and operate equipment and hand tools and mobile equipment performing minor maintenance and running procedures on 60KVA generators, portable light carts, air conditioning units, pumps, air compressor, water blasters, rail cart and similar related equipment necessary for test track missions. This position will also require good computer skills. The individual must be able to stand, stoop, bend, kneel, climb, crawl, stretch, and work in cramped positions, for up to 2 hrs. but not exceed 10 hrs. daily, must be able to handle objects weighing up to 79 lbs. without assistance and over 80 lbs. with assistance, also work in extreme heat and cold environments for up to 10 hrs.
