Responsibilities

As a Skilled Laborer/Groundman, you will support all phases of utility construction for various types of telecom projects. You believe in doing the job right. Being the best. And you're up for the challenge.

In addition, you will:

  • Perform manual tasks such as digging trenches, unloading building materials, and preparing job sites with use of hand tools like shovels, rakes, and picks.
  • Transport heavy equipment to and from the job site each day.
  • Build and maintain aerial and underground cable systems.
  • Troubleshoot problems as they arise in the field.
  • Learn and train to use various kinds of tools and equipment.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Train and mentor new team members.
  • Track time and job completion progress.
  • Keep the job site organized and ensure proper restoration at project completion.
  • Perform other duties as required and/or assigned.

Qualifications

About You:

  • Safety is second nature to you.
  • You consistently produce high-quality work.
  • You enjoy solving complex problems and taking a hands-on approach.
  • You thrive in long-term projects and fast-paced environments.
  • You lead by example and enjoy coaching others.
  • You are comfortable working outdoors and in varied conditions.
  • You're experienced in construction labor.
  • You have a valid Class A CDL.
  • You want to learn the telecom construction trade to advance your career, coax splicing, fiber splicing, directional drilling, etc.
  • You want to make an impact with your local community and enjoy being home daily.
  • You can lift up to 70 lbs and work at heights of up to 35 feet.
  • You're available to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends if needed.

MOS Codes 12K, 12N,12V, 12W, 21E, 21J, 25P, 91C, 91L, 11B, 1100, 1120, 1316, 9970-9975, 0612, 2T3XX, 2E1XX, 3E2XX, 3E3XX, 9T0XX, BU, UT relate well to this position.
