As the Maintenance Intern for the RISE Group, Inc., you will be responsible for assisting with the building maintenance tasks in one or more fields (e.g. carpentry; electrical; heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC); plumbing, etc.); Perform general cleaning. Perform other tasks as assigned. The position will be part time, seasonal, Monday- Friday with work hours ranging from 6:00AM - 3:00PM, with some on-call hours required as needed. This position is seasonal and has no benefits.

Our facility is headquartered in Cranston, RI and sits on 16 acres of land with 9 areas of commercial building space. Commercial area includes general office space, laboratory space, and warehouse areas. Additional office locations are located throughout MA, NY, OH, TX. Occasional travel is required to our MA office locations per maintenance projects, as assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:



  • Assist with maintenance projects around facility such as basic repairs, maintain curb appeal, building interior, and exterior, painting, drywall, roofing, seasonal maintenance to include snow removal
  • Assist with performing preventative maintenance and replacement functions on a wide range of equipment; electrical systems, heating systems, HVAC/Refrigeration, plumbing
  • Operate and maintain a complete set of hand, power, and shop tools and computerized diagnostic and test equipment used in the restaurant equipment repair trade
  • Complete needed equipment repairs as they occur in a timely fashion
  • Assist with responding to emergency service calls for repair
  • Inspect and correctly diagnose standard malfunctions in equipment
  • Work with manager to estimate time and cost of repairs and cost of equipment


Minimum Qualifications:



  • Ability to perform basic plumbing and painting.
  • Work independently, exercising judgment and initiative
  • Ability to inspect and correctly diagnose standard malfunctions in equipment
  • Perform minor and major technical repairs and adjustments within the time frames as established
  • Ability to Read and interpret manuals, schematics, plans and specifications related to duties
  • Computer proficient using Microsoft Office & Google Suite



Preferred Qualifications and Education:




  • Carpentry experience preferred
  • Basic Experience with general maintenance is preferred
  • Must have current/ Valid Driver's License
  • Experience with Roofing a plus!



Physical Demands:



  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • This job operates in both indoor and outdoor environment
