This is a remote overseas assignment on Ascension Island, South Atlantic Ocean, in support of 24/7, special test and launch operations with no family accommodations. Essential Functions

  • Operates instrumentation, communication and test equipment
  • Analyzes radar tracking equipment and system problems to resolution and recommends revisions or adjusts and implements actions as approved
  • Maintains objective quality evidence, configuration documentation, property, logistics, supply, security, facility and classified accounts as required
  • Responsible for property inventory, control of supply parts and tools
  • Assists systems checks/calibrations
  • Tracks, collects and maintains data associated with customer and calibration requirements
  • Maintains station logs, equipment logs, documentation and records
  • Completes assigned training and assist with the training of others to ensure optimal availability of qualified personnel for daily operations and launch support
  • Supports routine test operations, checkouts and modifications
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Required Experience

  • High School Diploma required, post-secondary education such as an AS Degree in Electronic Technology, or two-year technical school, preferred
  • 0 - 2 years of large scale instrumentation operations or maintenance experience
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel spreadsheets
  • Basic understanding and experience working on standard electronics test equipment such as Oscilloscopes, Frequency Counters, Pulse Generators, and analog/digital meters, preferred
  • Experience working with property control, logistics and quality standards, preferred
  • Radar operations/maintenance experience, preferred

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  • Ability to move, transport, install and position equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to ascend/descend and traverse work areas at heights of 20 feet or more
  • Ability to respond quickly to sounds, including high pitches, and smells
  • Ability to drive manual transmission
  • Ability to rotate shifts from day to night on a regular basis and work extended shifts up to 12 hours as needed (may work continually on night shift)
  • The flexibility to work frequent non-duty hours or on weekends to support specific project or mission requirements
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance, which includes U.S. citizenship
  • Valid U.S. Driver's License
  • Valid U.S. passport or ability to obtain one within 60 days of hire
