Introduction

The Treasurer is a locally-elected constitutional officer whose duties are mandated by the Code of Virginia and local ordinances. The Treasurer is elected at-large for a four-year term and provides direct service to all Loudoun residents and businesses. The principal functions of the Treasurer's Office include billing and collecting taxes for real and personal property, business licenses, and other services as specified by the Code of Virginia and local ordinances; acting as primary depository of revenue for all County agencies, including Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS); investing and safeguarding County funds; reconciling County funds to bank and investment accounts; and providing outstanding customer service to taxpayers, County staff, and LCPS staff.


Job Summary

The Loudoun County's Treasurer Office is currently seeking highly qualified applicants for the Information Services Team. The Treasurer's office has a mission to serve the residents of Loudoun County by educating, advising, and disseminating information in a courteous, accurate and efficient manner. The position's primary location is the Sterling office but will travel to the Leesburg office location on occasion.

This position is responsible for direct interaction with residents through a call center environment, email, U.S. Mail, and in person. Specifically, this position will assist with resident inquiries to include general tax information, tax billing and payments, tax deadlines as well as other general County information. This position may also serve as a backup cashier as needed.

The successful candidate will possess excellent verbal and written communication. Additionally, the candidate should possess outstanding customer services skills, be proficient in math, experienced in 10-key, and be detail oriented. Excellent multi-tasking skills are a must, along with being able to handle a fast-paced, ever-evolving work environment. This position requires proficient skills in Microsoft Office Word and Excel, as well as the use of discretion and the ability to maintain confidentiality.

Hiring salary is commensurate with experience.


Minimum Qualifications

Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a high school diploma and three (3) years of related clerical/administrative work experience with computer automated systems and office applications experience. Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.


Job Contingencies and Special Requirements

Employment is contingent upon satisfactory completion of a criminal background and credit check.

Normal working hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30AM to 5:00PM with mandatory overtime during tax deadlines.
