Please note that this position is contingent upon the successful award of a contract currently under bid. Dedicated to serving those who defend the US and warfighters, Nisga'a MOSTT offers Military Operations support and Specialized Tactical Training (MOSTT). Nisga'a MOSTT's services include aviation and military training, cybersecurity, intelligence gathering and analysis, and simulation and exercise support, as well as aviation flight logistics support and unmanned aerial vehicle support. Summary: We are looking for a Helicopter Rope Suspension Techniques / Cast Instructor to support the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Combat Skills Course of Instruction (COI) for the Center for Explosive Ordnance Disposal and Diving (CEODD). This position shall provide helicopter support services to the Center for EOD and Diving to facilitate the EOD Combat Skills Course for military students in fast-rope, rappelling, water-casting, and Special Patrol Insertion/Extraction (SPIE) techniques. All helicopters must be U.S.-manufactured, meet all Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) safety requirements, and be fully equipped and capable of conducting these specialized military operations.
Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:
- Shall comply with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) requirements in in Code of federal Regulations Title 14 FAA Part 133 (Rotorcraft External-Load Operations), FAA Title Part 91 (General Operating and Flight Rules), Title 14 FAA Part 43 (Maintenance, Preventive Maintenance, Rebuilding, and Alteration), and Title 14 FAA Part 61 (certification: Pilots, Flight Instructors, and Ground Instructors).
- Shall fly helicopters have valid FAA air worthiness certifications, and meet all FAA, DoD, and DoN safety, flight and mission requirements.
- Instruct and supervise students in HRST and CAST operations in accordance with Navy and DoD standards.
- Conduct classroom and practical training on helicopter insertion/extraction techniques.
- Ensure all training is conducted safely and in compliance with applicable regulations and risk management procedures.
- Maintain and inspect HRST/CAST equipment and ensure operational readiness.
- Coordinate with aviation units and CEODD staff to schedule and execute live training evolutions.
- Evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback and remediation as needed.
- Assist in curriculum development and updates to reflect current tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs).
- Support after-action reviews (AARs) and contribute to continuous improvement of the training program.
Qualifications
Necessary Skills and Knowledge:
- Familiarity with Navy and DoD safety protocols and training standards.
- Strong communication and instructional skills.
- Ability to work in a high-tempo, physically demanding environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum recent experience within the last 5 years.
- Must be previously qualified Helicopter Rope Suspension Techniques / Cast Master & Expeditionary Small Arms Marksmanship Instructor (ESAMI)
- Are required to have a favorable investigation of a Local Agency Check and Local Credit Check.
- Medical Screening. A medical screening conducted by a civilian medical doctor or credentialed PA or NP (family practice) must be documented and indicate that the instructor is physically capable of working to the desired standards associated with this duty assignment. Renewal of the medical screening is required every three (3) years.
- Must successfully complete a psychological screening as part of the hiring process.
- Ability to pass a drug test.
- Must have an active Secret Clearance
- Must be a US citizen.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience as an EOD technician or instructor.
- Experience supporting Naval Special Warfare or Marine Special Operations Forces.
