The Opportunity Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University's Flight Department is seeking a Specialized Training Manager to oversee the Online academic component of our flight training curriculum. This individual will play a critical role in the administration, tracking, and student support functions that bridge the gap between online learning and in-aircraft training. As the Specialized Training Manager, you will ensure that students are properly enrolled, actively monitored for academic progress, and supported throughout their training journey. You'll collaborate closely with instructors and operations teams to ensure a seamless, aligned learning experience that promotes student success and training efficiency. Responsibilities include: -Monitor Enrollment and Participation - Ensure all flight students are properly in the online ground training course and actively participating according to established timelines. -Track Student Progress and Performance - Regularly review progress reports, assessment results, and module completion rates to identify at-risk students and overall performance trends. -Communicate with Assistant Chief Instructors - Notify Assistant Chiefs when a student is not making satisfactory progress so that coordinated interventions can be planned and implemented. -Provide Targeted Student Support - Identify struggling students and provide early intervention through personalized outreach, tutoring referrals, or study strategies. -Communicate Expectations to Students - Clearly convey course objectives, weekly expectations, grading criteria, and critical deadlines to students via email, learning platform announcements, and in-person briefings. -Coordinate with Flight Instructors and Assistant Chief Instructors - Collaborate with staff to ensure synchronization between flight training milestones and online course content. -Coordinate with the SpecialVFR team - Collaborate with the media development team to ensure continuous improvement of asynchronous learning. -Lead Orientation and Onboarding Sessions - Conduct orientation meetings for new students to introduce them to the online course structure, tools, and success strategies. -Ensure Assessment Integrity and Accuracy - Oversee timely grading, ensure assessments align with flight objectives, and troubleshoot grading or content issues as needed. -Support Curriculum Updates and Content Development - Collaborate with curriculum developers and instructional designers to propose and implement improvements to the online course based on student feedback, performance data, and flight training alignment. Participate in content creation, content updates, and initial system setup as needed. -Maintain Compliance and Records - Ensure all student academic records related to the online course meet institutional, FAA, VA, and accreditation standards for documentation and retention. -Generate Reports and Dashboards - Produce weekly reports on student engagement, grades, and progression metrics to department leadership and instructional staff.
