Established in 1986, Virginia Commonwealth University Ryan White Program (VCU RWP) is the largest and broadest of its kind in Central Virginia. Our mission is to improve the health and social condition of persons living with HIV and to prevent the spread of the disease. VCU RWP established its 340B Program in 2014.
This team member will support the Ryan White Clinic in West Hospital 1-2 days/week, Ambulatory at Jackson Center 1-2 days/week and the remaining day(s) will be remote. Performance Expectation: Provides Psychotherapy Services Provides initial evaluations and direct clinical services for the Ryan White Clinic and ambulatory clinic. Facilitates patient referrals to other departmental resources or to community resources as appropriate. Provides psychotherapy to patients in conjunction with care provided by department psychiatrists, physicians, psychologists, and nurse practitioners. Develops clinical treatment plans with patient input, understanding and agreement toward clearly stated goals. Completes clinical documentation noting progress toward treatment goals following each patient encounter. Maintains compliance with all VCUHS policies and procedures governing clinical care delivery and documentation. Collaborates as part of an interdisciplinary team to meet the needs of the patients served. Performance Expectation: Miscellaneous Responsibilities Performs other duties as assigned and/or participates in special projects in order to support the mission of VCUHS and the Department. Provides assistance to team members. Accepts alternate assignments, as required, graciously. Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for Hire: Licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Professional Counselor, Clinical Psychologist, Clinical Social Worker or Clinical Nurse Specialist Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for continued employment: Current Virginia license as a Professional Counselor, Clinical Psychologist, Clinical Social Worker or Clinical Nurse Specialist Experience REQUIRED: Minimum of three (3) years post licensure experience providing initial psychiatric evaluations and psychotherapy in an outpatient setting Experience PREFERRED: One (1) year of previous experience providing EAP services Previous experience providing threat assessments and fitness for work evaluations Education/training REQUIRED: Masters or Doctoral level education in the field of psychology, social work, counseling or nursing from an accredited program Education/training PREFERRED: N/A Independent action(s) required: Must be able to evaluate patients and EAP clients, formulate an accurate differential diagnosis, and develop and implement an appropriate course of treatment.
