DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Corrections Utility Plant Operator, you will hold a crucial role in the operation, maintenance, and repair of the boiler plant at SCI Greene. You will oversee and manage an inmate work crew, ensuring that they perform tasks safely and efficiently. Your responsibilities will include monitoring the operation of heating and cooling equipment, both manually and through automatic control systems. You will also be required to interpret gauges, meters, and other devices to ensure the proper functioning of the plant. Additionally, you will be responsible for conducting scheduled and non-routine maintenance, testing boiler water and chemistry, and maintaining logs of all tests performed and supplies needed.

- Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
- Work hours are 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM, Sunday - Saturday, with rotating days off.
- This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Three years of experience in the operation, maintenance, and repair of a steam or hot water generating plant, or a steam and electric generating plant; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Additional Requirements:
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.

- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
