About the Role We are seeking a strategic, creative, and detail-oriented Communications Senior Manager to lead internal communications in support of WSI's business strategy and objectives. This role is responsible for crafting compelling messaging, maintaining brand voice across channels, monitoring and shaping our employer brand and developing communication strategies that connect, engage and inspire WSI's 22,000+ associates around the globe. Responsibilities
Communication Strategy & Planning
Develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies to support business objectives. Align communications with brand, marketing, employer brand and associate engagement goals. Proactively tell the Company's story and enlist associates as ambassadors of this message. Provide leaders with tools and information that inform, align and motivate their teams. Collaborate with leadership to communicate key initiatives and updates to associates.
Content Creation & Management
Ensure consistency in messaging, tone, and branding across all communication platforms. Develop internal newsletters, announcements, and employee engagement content to be shared in written, digital and video formats Develop a deep understanding of WSI's business and brands to drive the company's vision and key messages from the inside out.
Intranet & Communication Platforms
Manage the organization's intranet site, ensuring content is up to date, engaging, and accessible. Oversee and optimize internal communication tools (e.g., intranet, digital signage, internal bulletins, employee apps, Teams). Partner with IT, HR, and other departments to continuously improve platform functionality and user experience.
Cultural & Organizational Events
Create and implement events, activities and communications throughout the year that highlight the company's key objectives, accomplishments and people. Plan and organize events and communication to celebrate culture, accomplishments and other associate engagement activities. Collaborate with HR and event teams to ensure events align with organizational values and are effectively communicated. Create promotional and post-event content to highlight engagement and participation.
Partnerships and leadership
Partner closely with Human Resources to effectively communicate associate programs and benefits. Collaborate effectively with leaders and team members across all corporate departments, including Human Resources, Public Relations, Investor Relations, Legal, Loss Prevention, Facilities, etc. Develop internal communications team member and provide oversight, training, coaching and motivation to support their professional development. Exemplary team leader who can lead and work on intradepartmental, as well as cross-functional, communications teams to consistently articulate WSI's values, goals, and culture to the internal audience. Seeks to establish and maintain relationships with associates throughout WSI to obtain input on concerns, needs, and feedback for senior management.
Measurement & Reporting
Track performance of communication efforts using KPIs, platform analytics, and engagement metrics. Deliver regular reports and recommendations for improvement.
Criteria
A Bachelors degree is required, preferably in Journalism, Communications or related area. 5+ years of relevant experience. Demonstrated skills in effective leadership and management, including excellent mentoring and people development skills. Previous experience developing and implementing internal communications strategies for a dynamic, fast-paced company. Experience contributing to efforts to nurture and support a strong and effective corporate culture. A collaborative and team oriented style, especially with peers and colleagues. Strong executive presence and credibility. Outstanding verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated strong writing skills especially for internal audiences. Excellent presentation skills; ability to communicate accurately and concisely. Detail-oriented organizational skills and superior relationship-management skills. Experience managing large-scale events a plus. Graphic design skills or an eye for design a plus. Familiarity with the retail industry a plus. This role requires being onsite in the San Francisco office Monday through Thursday and Friday as optional in the office
