JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Penn State Altoona invites applications for Part-Time Evening/Weekend/Special Events Recreational Supervisor. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Athletics, this part time job has primary responsibility for the supervision of recreational events in the Athletic and Recreational Facilities during evening and weekend hours of operation; ensures strict adherence to all University and NCAA rules and regulations; and does related work as assigned by the Assistant Director of Athletics.

Job Summary
  • Oversight of the Athletic Facilities and the work study students at front desk, cardio loft, weight room, aquatic center, and other recreational facilities on the evening and weekend shifts.
  • Oversee all aspects of recreational, club, fitness, and intramurals on evenings and weekends.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Ensure that all patrons abide by policies and address safety concerns as they arise.
  • Responsible for the opening and closing of the facility during evenings and weekends.
  • Oversee all aspects of running the evening recreational and intramural offerings: enforce all rules, policies, and regulations.
  • Have or obtain First Aid and CPR Certifications.
  • Maintain a clean environment throughout the Athletic Facilities.
  • Assist in oversight of special events during the evening and weekend.
  • Assess, report, and repair weight room or fitness loft equipment.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Candidate must possess effective communication skills and the demonstrated ability to work with a diverse population.
  • Experience in the preparation and supervision of athletic facilities for events and games is preferred.

Compensation:

The starting rate for this job is $15.00 an hour

BACKGROUND CHECKS/CLEARANCES

This position requires the following clearances in addition to applicable background checks: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check.
