SUMMARY STATEMENT:

The Land Tech's role requires a detail-focused, flexible, team player who can solve Land issues requiring research and curative actions, track and comply with important deadlines related to the rig schedule, and coordinate requirements of the Texas General Land Office and University Lands School Board. This position will report directly to the VP-Land or Land Manager.

This position is intended to support the Land team by working title research projects, managing well proposals for new drills/outside operated/workovers, and various other tasks.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under supervision of the VP-Land, responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following items:

  • Administration of AFE Execute system for Land
  • Invoice coding and routing
  • Propose new drill wells to partners and track responses
  • Coordination of Master Land Service Contract and Work Order processes
  • Tracking ongoing leasing projects for the Landmen
  • OBO Coordinator - receive well proposals, shepherd through approval process, and track our response timelines and communicate those to the team
  • Mortgage Title Backup - coordinate the gathering of the title material
  • GLO/University Lands ("UL")- update data, keep up with filings and track deadlines
  • GLO/UL Coordinate Production Sharing Agreements between Landmen and the GLO/UL
  • GLO/UL Coordinate Pooling Agreements between Landmen and the GLO/UL
  • GLO/UL Coordinate Releases between Landmen and the GLO/UL

EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Some Land experience preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to learn AFE Execute, TRDI, W Energy, and other required systems
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience with Texas mineral ownership and conveyance documents preferred

COMPENSATION:

Salary is commensurate with experience.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work is normally performed in a climate-controlled environment, where exposure to conditions of extreme heat/cold, poor ventilation, fumes and gases is very limited. Noise level is moderate and includes sounds of a normal office environment. No environmental hazards are encountered in performance of normal job duties.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Work normally requires finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination to operate computer keyboard at moderate skill level. Work may require occasional pushing, pulling, or carrying 20-pound objects such as files, documents, boxes, etc. Work involves sitting most of the time but may involve standing and walking for brief periods. Overtime is a requirement of the job. Travel is occasionally required (less than 5% of time).
