The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Nursing has been the leader in nursing education in North Carolina throughout its history. Established in 1950, it was the first school of nursing in North Carolina to offer a four-year baccalaureate nursing degree program followed by the first master's degree program, the first continuing education program for nurses, first doctoral program, and first accelerated BSN option to students with college degrees. Today, the School is renowned for its academic programs, its research and its commitment to clinical and community service within state, national and global communities.
Position Summary
UNC Chapel Hill School of Nursing is seeking candidates for a Public Health/Community Health Nurse Specialist position. This is a 12- month, non-faculty position funded by a HRSA Nurse Education, Practice, Quality and Retention ( NEPQR) Simulation Education Training ( SET) multi-year program. This position is focused on clinical teaching with identified clinical partners. This position requires the incorporation of evidence-based practice into clinical activities and maintaining a commitment to serving the school of nursing, university, profession, and community.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of North Carolina and two years of experience in the area of specialization.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Nursing
1-2 years of experience in clinical care in a community setting
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
Licensed or eligible for licensure as a registered nurse in North Carolina
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Clear and unencumbered RN licensed with the NC Board of Nursing
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Must have a valid driver's license.
