Position Overview: Term: 2+month contract Location: 100% on-site in Lakeland, FL Pay: up to $30/hr Hours: M-F 8-5pm We are seeking a skilled and motivated Network Technician to support a project in the Tampa Bay and Orlando area. The Network Technician will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance and site assessments on network hardware, and network-related systems. This role requires technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in fast-paced environments. What you'll do as the Network Technician : The requirements below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Assess condition of network, AV, and other LAN attached equipment. Monitor and maintain network performance to ensure high availability and reliability. Document network configurations, maintenance activities, and procedures. Work with Field Management office to upload network maps, site photos, and other relevant information for multiple locations Clean Intermediate Distribution Frame (IDF) when required. Document and photo the condition of the Main Distribution Frame (MDF), apply labels to network equipment when necessary. What you will bring to the team: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; or equivalent experience. 2+ years of experience in networking or IT support. Basic understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN). Experience working in and around network distribution frames Basic understanding of network security practices. Must possess a basic tool kit and small vacuum. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and in a team. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
