Job Description: The Senior Project Manager at Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company in Franklin, Wisconsin will plan, coordinate, and manage backend IT infrastructure technology, IT delivery plans, and tools. Lead planning, coordination, and execution of technical projects including technology and application lifecycle upgrades and migrations, audit and security enhancements, efforts to ensure regulatory compliance, simplification and adoption of technology platforms, cost optimization efforts, and new business capability enhancements from initiation to closure. Define project charter, scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with senior management and key stakeholders. Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets, allocating resources effectively to achieve project objectives. Identify and manage project risks, issues, and dependencies, promptly escalating any concerns as appropriate. Monitor project progress, manage risks and issues, track key milestones, and provide regular status updates to stakeholders. Ensure effective communication throughout the project lifecycle and adherence to project management best practices methodologies. Facilitate effective collaboration and communication among project team members, ensuring clarity on project objectives, roles, and responsibilities. Conduct regular stakeholder meetings to gather feedback, address concerns, and ensure alignment with project goals. Conduct project post-mortems to identify lessons learned and best practices for future projects, contributing to continuous improvement. Stay updated with emerging technologies, industry trends, and project management best practices, recommending innovative solutions to enhance project delivery. Telecommuting permitted up to 2 days a week. Salary $115,128- $172,380 per year. Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in software engineering or a related field, plus 5 years of experience as a software engineer or related occupation. 5 years of experience must include 3 years of experience with each of the following: (1) working with agile teams; (2) portfolio project management tools including Jira, and Jira align; (3) team productivity and collaboration tools including Confluence and Microsoft Sharepoint; (4) agile reporting through Jira and Jira Align tools; (5) working with backend IT infrastructure technologies and tools including Server, Storage, Databases, Networks, Cloud environments, CICD, DevOps & Mainframes; (6) SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) methodologies including Planning, Analysis, Design, Implementation, Testing, and Integration and Maintenance; (7) managing project scope, budget, timeline and status reporting; (8) waterfall and agile methodologies; and (9) working in an IT product management role.
