Job Summary

Phoenix College is seeking a full-time Student Services Analyst Sr. to plan and coordinate new student onboarding and engagement-related projects and support large-scale, college-wide system initiatives. This position will lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of projects to enhance student success, retention, and completion. The Student Services Analyst Sr. will coordinate, design, and implement comprehensive new-to-college student experiences and programming, helping them to acclimate better and feel more connected to the campus. This position will collaborate with student affairs teams, faculty, and administrators to create a holistic and supportive environment, increasing enrollment and improving retention. The position will leverage best practices and technology solutions to create opportunities, activities, and programming related to student success. Areas of oversight and influence may include, but are not limited to, new student group advising and orientation, first-year experience and success, and retention programs.

To succeed in this role, you will need excellent communication and organizational skills and proficiency in using technology to track progress against goals, Student Information Systems, and other technologies to document work activities and organize daily priorities.

Essential Functions

New Student Onboarding: 40%
  • Leads the planning of new student onboarding. Develops, oversees, and evaluates student services program functions consistent with best practices such as new student orientation, first-year experiences, student success retention programs, and enrollment management.
  • Coordinates with various student affairs teams to strengthen the enrollment pipeline and facilitate the successful onboarding of new students at Phoenix College.
  • Collaborates with campus stakeholders in the development, execution, and evaluation of new student experiences.
  • Maintains liaison with stakeholders; serves as a representative, providing professional support to committees, advisory, and other professional groups.
  • Coordinates the recruitment, selection, training, and supervision of student leaders supporting new student onboarding experiences. Manages scheduling, provides ongoing mentorship, and ensures effective participation in orientation activities.

Program Administration: 20%
  • Establishes program goals, initiatives, and guidelines and composes reports, presentations, and other unit work products.
  • Maintains and oversees the administration of database and program information (Excel and Google Suite).
  • Participates in strategic planning and decision-making.
  • Aligns and integrates strategies related to strategic enrollment management, retention, and Student Learning Outcomes in the programs of responsibility.

Program Assessment: 15%
  • Collect data and prepare reports to provide feedback on the overall effectiveness of new student onboarding.
  • Conducts assessment, reviews findings, and analyzes trends; reviews and evaluates program outcomes.
  • Identifies program needs and issues. Recommends solutions to student barriers and programming.

Special Projects: 15%
  • In collaboration with the Dean of Student Affairs office, assists with developing strategies that engage new students and integrate them into the campus community through continuous connection to campus resources.
  • Leading and managing special projects, such as unique populations requiring a college point of contact and coordination of wrap-around services, including tailored strategies and targeted support.

Other: 10%
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution in education, sociology, business administration, or related field, and four (4) years of progressively responsible student services experience coordinating, administering, planning, or evaluating.

OR

An equivalent combination of the conferred degree and directly related full-time work experience as described above, sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job, such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation, may be considered.

Desired Qualifications
  • Two (2) or more years of professional experience in higher education with a focus on student success and engagement.
  • Two (2) or more years of demonstrated ability to lead and implement student success and/or retention initiatives, programs, or activities.
  • Two (2) or more years of proven project management experience across both large- and small-scale initiatives, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Two (2) or more years of experience developing, coordinating, and facilitating student leadership programs.
  • One (1) or more years of experience in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to inform decision-making and effectively communicate findings to diverse stakeholders.


Special Working Conditions
  • MCCCD does not sponsor individuals for any type of work visa.
  • Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
  • May be required to sit for a prolonged period of time, viewing a computer monitor
  • Travel to campus during the interview/selection process will be at the candidate's own expense
  • This position may be required to travel to a variety of locations on and off campus as needed to conduct District or College business.
  • Working Conditions: Work is routinely performed in an indoor office environment.
