The Data Engineer Senior will have a strong background in data engineering, with extensive experience in securely designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and architectures. As a Data Engineer Senior, you will play a critical role in shaping our data infrastructure, ensuring the availability, reliability, and performance of our data systems. The Data Engineer Senior will be responsible for mentoring and teaching existing colleagues. As such, the ideal candidate must have experience clearly explaining solutions to complex problems and demonstrate the ability to lead and impact knowledge effectively to junior resources.

What You'll Do:

  • Securely design, develop, test, and deploy streaming and batch ingestion pipelines across diverse data domains using programming languages, integration tools, messaging technologies, REST APIs, and ETL/ELT frameworks.
  • Lead the design and maintenance of data pipeline architecture across structured and unstructured data for both cloud and on-premises environments.
  • Apply and champion DataOps best practices, including orchestration of data, tools, environments, and code.
  • Identify, design, and drive process improvements: automate manual tasks, optimize performance, and re-engineer infrastructure for scalability and accessibility.
  • Participate in requirements gathering sessions, translating business needs into robust, technical data solutions.
  • Collaborate with business and technology partners to productionize, optimize, and scale enterprise analytics.

Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience (Required)
  • Master's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field (Preferred)..

Experience

  • 5+ years in data engineering focused on building automated pipelines using ETL/ELT patterns or related technologies (Required).
  • 3+ years hands-on experience with cloud platforms (Snowflake strongly preferred; AWS, Azure, or GCP acceptable) and proficiency in Python programming and advanced SQL coding/performance tuning (Required).
  • Strong understanding of relational, columnar, and NoSQL database architectures and industry development best practices (Preferred).
  • Deep knowledge of dimensional data modeling for designing and building enterprise data warehouses (Preferred).
  • Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform).
  • Advanced knowledge of big data streaming technologies (e.g., Kafka).
  • Proficiency with data formats (XML/JSON) and integrating external APIs.
