Position Overview

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, this position acts as the architect for talent strategy and corporate-culture initiatives for the C&S Companies. The purpose of the role is to maximize human potential through data-driven strategies that attract and develop a world-class team, support the next generation of leaders and enable sustainable growth. In addition to the typical administrative HR functions, the Director of People & Culture is responsible for organizational design, the implementation of learning and development programs, executive coaching and development, and more. The position is both tactical and strategic. The administrative functions like onboarding, compensation, compliance and regulations are an essential part of HR. However, there also needs to be strategic direction, and a focus on the business objectives as well as the processes and policies around attracting and retaining the best people.

Position Responsibilities

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following however, additional duties may be assigned by the CEO at any time:



  • Think strategically about employee recruiting, hiring, and retention
  • Optimize the use of people analytics software to manage talent
  • Lead the People & Culture team and align team capacity commensurate with the needs of the enterprise.
  • Drive strategic partnership between People & Culture and the business.
  • Coordinate, organize and participate in leadership training
  • Work to refine and improve compensation frameworks
  • Work with Leadership to enhance diversity, equity, and inclusion programs
  • Provide strategy and oversight of the administration of our compensation, benefits, and HRIS system
  • Coordinate with General Counsel to advise the leadership team on relevant compliance and employment law and introduce best practices to protect the organization
  • Develop and implement effective technical and soft skills training programs for employees
  • Harness the existing culture and values when building out internal people-related policies while devising new ways to reinforce and improve upon the culture
  • Manage talent initiatives from recruiting and onboarding to employee retention and off boarding
  • Identify and measure organizational KPIs for our team
  • Collaborate with Talent Manager to refine and fine-tune performance evaluation and feedback tools
  • Evaluate and manage all HR-related third-party vendors and partners


Skills/Education/Experience



  • BA in HR or related field, MA in HR or related field, Advanced degree in HR related field and associated certification (e.g. SHRM) preferred.
  • 10 - 15 years of progressively more responsible positions in HR, preferably in the professional services or other similar industry.
  • Understand the importance of HR analytics, ability to understand HR data and translate them into organizational goals. A forward thinking approach to automation and leveraging data analytics is critical to improve our efficient
  • Strong knowledge of HR best practices, employment laws, and regulations.
  • Proven experience in talent acquisition, including sourcing and interviewing.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement HR policies and programs.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities


Estimated Compensation Range and Benefits

$125,000 - $165,000/year*

*Actual compensation may vary based on related work experience, geographical location and market conditions, education/training, certifications, and other credentials, as well as applicable knowledge and skills.
