Position Summary:

Lead the design, development, and testing of Ethernet and other communications equipment, components, or systems to meet customer specifications.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Contributes to research efforts to develop a solution or a new product
  • Create production drawings based on customer specifications and industry regulations
  • Research components for use in new and existing designs, assist with purchasing and cross referencing
  • Perform hardware design creating electrical schematics, PCB layout and failure analysis
  • Ability to train and educate less experienced team members on areas of specialty.
  • Directly support production activities, both on the release and maintenance side of designs.
  • Production support also includes troubleshooting, cost reduction, yield improvement and failure analysis.
  • Help create and maintain component libraries, production drawings, and release documentation.
  • Involved in design strategy, hardware creation, new product definition, and system development
  • Provide input and direction for product specifications, automated test fixtures, and test software
  • Create functional models and prototypes to perform validation / testing through experimental methods
  • Author specifications that allow seamless interaction with the software teams
  • Assure the solution provided meets industry quality and safety standards
  • Use six sigma tools to evaluate and validate designs
  • Specify materials and production processes, assist production team in trouble shooting processes.
  • Interact with sales personnel and travel to customers and vendors as required
  • Liaise with customers to identify new product development opportunities
  • Collaborate or participate with industry ad hoc groups to identify new product development opportunities
  • Contribute to new intellectual property
  • Author white papers and industry articles in support of products and solutions
  • Assist as required with digital marketing campaigns in support of products and solutions
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field
  • 7+ years of related experience within this industry
  • Proficiency in hardware circuit design, circuit simulation software, schematic capture, and other design tools.
  • Experience with Altium designer schematic capture and layout software a plus.
  • Experience with CVI lab windows, python, C programming, I2C, MDIO and Linux a plus.
  • Experience in electronics manufacturing environment a plus.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Leadership experience preferred
  • Applies mathematical and engineering principles and methods used to design electrical systems
  • Proven ability to overcome obstacles and get results

The base pay hiring rate expected for this position is: $100,000 - 120,000 annually.

This position is eligible to participate in an incentive plan.Metrics and level of participation are determined annually.

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.
