Rotoflow is a full-service turbomachinery OEM providing a comprehensive range of new equipment solutions and aftermarket services to our global customers. For over 75 years, Rotoflow has designed and manufactured both standard and custom-engineered cryogenic and warm gas centrifugal turbomachinery used in market segments such as industrial gases, petrochemicals, and hydrocarbons. Products include our wide-ranging proprietary turbo-expanders and related equipment consisting of new equipment designs, upgrades and repairs along with a full complement of supporting services. Our customers are served globally through regional service centers supported by both regional and centralized execution teams.

We are currently seeking a Mechanical Designer to join our team at our global headquarters in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. This role involves minimal travel.

Key Job Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for equipment design and development, layout, detailed part drawing creation, BOM generation, manufacturing, purchasing and production support as necessary throughout projects,
  • Creation of 3D CAD models of turbomachinery components including complex geometries such as radial impellers,
  • Creation of 2D and 3D CAD layouts,
  • Creation of 2D drawings using geometric dimensioning,
  • Perform stack-up analysis of precision machinery,
  • Interface with a broad spectrum of suppliers and disposition part variations and deviations,
  • Create conceptual layouts to support new product development,
  • Perform quality and technical checks of drawings and documents as a checker,
  • Designing and creating manufacturing drawings for tooling associated with servicing turbomachinery,
  • Creation, revision, and maintenance of part numbers, part routings and bills of materials in Air Products' ERP system (SAP),
  • The successful candidate will need to interact with colleagues including proposals, project management, engineering, shop operations, and field service engineers,
  • Promote safety and diversity consistent with the philosophies of Rotoflow.
Required Skills / Abilities:
  • 2D and 3D CAD, simulation, and FEA experience a plus,
  • Working knowledge of ERP and MRP Systems a plus,
  • Knowledge of turbomachinery or other high speed rotating machinery a strong plus,
  • Time management skills and ability to work independently on multiple concurrent projects or tasks and as a team,
  • Strong knowledge Microsoft Office tools,
  • Attention to detail and written and oral communication skills,
  • Understanding of revision control philosophy,
  • Experience with tolerancing and stack-up philosophies,
  • Experience with design of assembly tooling,
  • Experience with SolidWorks and Bentley MicroStation or AutoCAD a strong plus,
  • Experience with SAP ERP system a strong plus.
Minimum Hiring Requirements:
  • Associates Degree in Mechanical Design or equivalent. BS in a technical field a plus,
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a mechanical design occupation. 10+ years' experience a plus,
  • Basic knowledge of ANSI GD&T.
Working Conditions and/or Benefits of this role:
  • This is a full-time position based in Bethlehem, PA,
  • You will be expected to work on-site 5 days per week during initial training. There is potential to transition to a hybrid work schedule,
  • Minimal travel required,
