About the Role

The Quality Engineer II is responsible for Quality Improvement initiatives related to Customer, Site and Enterprise Quality Metrics. This role requires a self-directed individual with motivation to solve complex problems, ability to utilize Watlow Quality tools with focus on defect prevention, ability to identify trends and opportunities to improve process / product quality and the ability to communicate with and work closely with Customers as well as various functions within Watlow, including Leadership, Operations, Engineering (Development and Manufacturing), Supply Chain, Product/Account Management and Customer Service

Your Key Responsibilities



  • Leading/Coaching Quality focused initiatives related to Customer, Site and Enterprise Quality Metrics (i.e. PPM, RTY, Scrap, etc.)
  • Leading/Participating in Quality focused programs, such as Kaizen/JDI events, Corrective Action and Material Review Boards, Auditing, etc.
  • Use/Promote Quality Planning tools, such as First Article/PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plan, Gauge R&R, Capability Analysis
  • Leading/Coaching others on Problem Solving methodology (i.e. RCCA, 8D, PPS) based on Error Proofing practices.



Required Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree (Technical degree preferred)
  • Ability to work under general direction or with minimum supervision
  • Strong understanding and demonstration of the Problem Solving process
  • Self-directed / motivated to meet team defined goals and provide coaching/feedback when necessary.



Desired Qualifications



  • Experience in supporting a MFG Process/Value Stream
  • Knowledge/Experience with PCB manufacturing and electronics.
  • Strong understanding and application of lean product development tools and methods.
  • ISO/Process Audit experience
