The Clinical Lead - CT is responsible for providing administrative and clinical oversight of the CT department.

Job Relationships

Reports to the Advanced Imaging Operations Manager.

Principal Responsibilities



  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and exam protocols to maintain high quality imaging across the practice.
  • Coordinate monthly department meetings with managers and technologists.
  • Leadership in all areas related to the CT department.
  • Schedule patients within accreditation guidelines.
  • Recommend equipment purchases; coordinate with vendors to identify new packages and products available to the Clinic.
  • Provide input into performance evaluations.
  • Train and mentor new CT technologists and Tech Aids.
  • Assure CT staff compliance with established policies and procedures. Address identified issues and consult with the Operations Manager to achieve necessary actions.
  • Coordinate with the CT Operations Manager on issues related to staff retention and recruitment.
  • Participate in educational activities.
  • Perform or delegate all duties as defined in the CT Technologist position.
  • Responsible for equipment maintenance and ordering of supplies.
  • Monitor Quality Management procedures to maintain ACR compliance.
  • Prepare ACR submissions in cooperation with the Radiology Accreditation Coordinator and compliance of ACR guidelines.
  • Maintain administrative oversight of Dosewatch, TeraRecon, Aspen Lung, and the AW Server.
  • Comply with the Springfield Clinic incident reporting policy and procedures.
  • Adhere to all OSHA and Springfield Clinic training & accomplishments as required per policy.
  • Provide excellent customer service and adhere to Springfield Clinic's Code of Conduct and Ethics Standards.
  • Perform other job duties as assigned.


Education/Experience



  • Minimum of five to seven (5-7) years' experience as a CT Technologist.
  • Must be a graduate of an approved ACR school.
  • Successful completion of course study specific to CT imaging.


Licenses/Certificates



  • Must maintain current registration with ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) in Radiology/CT.
  • Must maintain current active licensure in Radiology with IEMA (Illinois Emergency Management Agency-Division of Nuclear Safety).
  • CPR certification per American Heart Association guidelines required within 30 days of hire.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities



  • Communicates highly sensitive information to physicians and administration in a professional manner.
  • Must be able to perform CT exams.
  • Must be able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time.


Working Environment



  • Will be exposed to fumes from cleaning agents in limited areas.
  • Will be exposed to conditions including, potential blood and body fluids, tissue, contagious diseases, and/or potentially hazardous materials.
  • Occasional heavy lifting required.
