Foley & Lardner LLP is seeking an associate with 1-3 years of bankruptcy and restructuring experience to join the Bankruptcy & Business Reorganization Practice Group in our Dallas office. Law clerk experience for a bankruptcy judge in a U.S. Bankruptcy Court is strongly preferred. In addition to having strong legal-writing, oral-communication, and litigation skills, qualified candidate will have experience representing debtors, secured creditors, indenture trustees, creditor committees, trustees, unsecured creditors, bondholder and noteholder groups, liquidation trustees, plan administrators and disbursing agents, bidders and acquirers, and other stakeholders in Chapter 11 proceedings, corporate reorganization matters, corporate trust and inter-creditor issues, and bankruptcy and default matters.

The ideal candidate also will have some experience (1) drafting avoidance complaints, mediation statements, various motions and pleadings, objections to plans of reorganization, sale motions, and settlement agreements; (2) preparing and filing fee applications, proofs of claim, and legal memoranda; and (3) presenting motions to the bankruptcy court and attending evidentiary hearings. This position will involve working with the entire 50+ member Foley & Lardner Bankruptcy & Business Reorganization Practice Group, with primary focus in the Texas markets.

We are seeking a well-rounded, dynamic, highly motivated Bankruptcy associate, who is an effective communicator, creative thinker, and has demonstrated an ability to thrive and prosper in complex environments. Top academic and work experience required.

In support of transparency and equity in the workplace, Foley provides salary ranges for all positions. The expected salary range for this position is between $225,000 - $290,000. Actual pay will be determined based on education, experience, internal pay equity at Foley, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
