Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Building Tech Mechanic with extensive plumbing experience to support the maintenance, repair, and operational needs of our building systems. The ideal candidate will possess a strong working knowledge of commercial plumbing systems, as well as a solid foundation in general building maintenance, including HVAC, electrical, and mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform skilled plumbing work including installation, maintenance, and repair of water supply lines, drainage systems, water heaters, pumps, valves, fixtures, and related equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve plumbing issues such as leaks, clogs, low water pressure, and faulty components.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and inspections on plumbing systems and mechanical equipment.
  • Assist in general building maintenance including basic HVAC, electrical, carpentry, and painting tasks as needed.
  • Maintain compliance with building codes, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
  • Respond to work orders and emergency maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Coordinate with outside vendors or contractors for specialized repairs.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance activities, and parts inventory.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical/vocational training preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in building maintenance with a focus on plumbing.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial plumbing systems, codes, and tools.
  • Familiarity with other building systems such as HVAC, electrical, and mechanical equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and technical manuals.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in various environments.
  • Valid driver's license; plumbing license or certification is a plus.

Work Environment:

  • On-site, physical work involving mechanical systems and equipment.
  • May require working after-hours or on-call for emergency repairs.
