Position Summary
UNM-Taos is seeking applicant for a full time Facilities Coordinator. This position will serve two primary services for the organization. They will be the Facilities Coordinator and assist the Facilities Manager as the coordinator of Custodial Services. The Facilities Coordinator will disseminate both everyday assignments and one-off directives from the Facilities Manager as needed to properly execute the obligations of the Custodial Department, the position will ensure the Custodial Crew Members are provided support, resources and an open flow of communications to the Facilities Manager. As the Custodial Crew hours extend into the evenings, the Facilities Coordinator will be the point of contact for both the Crew Members and Facilities Manager at all times. The Facilities Coordinator will also be responsible for supplies and equipment oversight and ordering. As a liaison for the Events Program operations, the position will be responsible for coordinating and scheduling the opening and closing of the events space, directing the floor arrangements for the activities scheduled, meeting clients and potential clients for space viewing and other arrangements. The position will coordinate the Facilities/Custodial operations necessary to support the Events Program and work with the Facilities Manager, Accounts Manager, Facilities Admin and Business Director in mitigating issues that may arise. The ideal candidate should:
- Be experienced in the cleaning process and focused on building upkeep and have a keen eye for detail
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, based on events scheduled or facilities department needs, including nights and weekends as needed.
- Sets up and breaks down conference rooms (tables, chairs, linen, etc.) according to banquet event orders and floorplan
- Open rooms for use adjusting lights, sound volumes, and temperature as needed for each room before guests arrive.
- Ensure proper use, storage and maintenance of meeting room equipment.
- Ensures high standards of safety and cleanliness in all areas of the event center.
- Communicate any areas of need, problems, and concerns about cleanliness, safety, or guest satisfaction to supervisor.
- As needed transports, loads and unloads items needed for events between Bataan Hall and Klauer locations
- On occasion, may assist in pick up, transport and setup catering orders on buffet tables from various locations in the community
- On occasion, may serve as the on-site point of contact

Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
