**Teksystems is currently seeking experienced Outpatient Medical Coders for a remote opportunity (CST)**
*Role Responsibilities:* * Assigns accurate diagnostic and procedure codes according to clinical documentation and official coding guidelines for outpatient hospital accounts. * Reviews HCPCS charges and codes for appropriateness of modifiers in relation to NCCI/CCI edits. Enters accurate charge information when appropriate * Monitors assigned work queues to ensure all records are charged promptly. * Generates coding queries for clarification regarding physician documentation as needed * Stays abreast of all changes in coding conventions and coding updates * Performs other duties as assigned. *Fully Remote - Must have a hard wire connection*** *M-F 8AM-5PM Central* *Skills & Qualifications* High School Diploma Must have prior Outpatient Medical Coding experience (3+ Years) Certifications: o Certified Coding Associate (CCA) - American Health Information Management Assoc (AHIMA) o OR Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) - American Health Information Management Assoc (AHIMA) o OR Certified Professional Coder (CPC) - American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) o OR Certified Professional Coder Apprentice (CPC-A) - American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) o OR Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) - American Health Information Management Assoc (AHIMA) o OR Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) - American Health Information Management Assoc (AHIMA) *Experience Level* Intermediate Level *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.
