About the role:

The Maintenance Supervisor oversees the activities and resources within the Maintenance area of our Distribution Center to ensure support is provided to meet the department and company goals. They will respond to complaints on equipment and work orders and procure needed equipment, supplies and spare parts as needed. This person will schedule work through internal resources and external vendors to ensure proper functionality of commercial equipment associated with Fire Protection, HVAC and Electrical Systems. Additionally, this role will coordinate with engineers to facilitate research, development and/or product and process improvements and enhancements to support business needs and implement policies and procedures to maintain production equipment compliance.

Your responsibilities will include:



  • Implements a staffing plan by identifying resource requirements, writing justifications for additional personnel, obtaining approval for changes, and coordinating the selection process with Facilities Leadership.
  • Develops direct reports by securing appropriate training, assigning progressively challenging tasks, applying progressive disciplinary action as appropriate and conducting formal written and verbal performance reviews.
  • Monitors daily work operations and provides direction to predominantly nonexempt and entry level staff to achieve unit or departmental goals.
  • Interacts with internal and external customers, by meeting regularly, responding to requests and explaining procedures.
  • Interprets and executes policies that affect individuals within the assigned organizational unit or department.
  • Monitors compliance with company policies and procedures (e.g. compliance with FDA, BSI, EEO regulations etc).
  • Develops work schedules for department by assessing priorities, workload and available resources.
  • Maintains personnel records (e.g., work schedules, vacation schedules, leaves) and makes or directs modifications in the database to reflect actual changes.
  • Assists in capital and operational budget forecasting and tracking for facility maintenance activities
  • May perform individual contributor tasks, especially in staff or professional units.



Required qualifications:



  • 3+ years of experience leading maintenance activities in a manufacturing environment
  • Expert in Preventative Maintenance - creating, writing and completing PM work on time and tracking system metrics
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and ability to read facilities blueprints
  • Must be organized and results-oriented; ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize competing tasks
  • Ability to communicate effectively with individuals on all levels (written and verbally)
  • Customer service-oriented with high sense of urgency and ability to work well under pressure; flexible
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills; analytical and process-driven
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to develop and maintain relationships
  • BMS and other building management systems experience



Preferred qualifications:



  • HVAC and Fire system knowledge
  • Experience with medical device, pharmaceutical or similar GMP environment

Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
