About the Job

Overview:
Provides research in transportation network modeling under the supervision of Professor Alireza Khani.

Job Duties:

Developing new models, optimization algorithms, and machine learning algorithms for transportation systems and services (40%).
Applying the models and algorithms to new transportation technologies including electric vehicles, autonomous vehicles, mobility-on-demand services, etc (40%).
Disseminating research methods and findings in the form of journal publications and conference presentations (20%).

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
PhD in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related fields

Preferred Qualifications:
Strong knowledge of transportation network modeling pertinent to electric transit and fleets
Strong knowledge of optimization models and algorithms, e.g., stochastic optimization, decomposition algorithms, etc.
Proficiency in Python programming, GUROBI or CPLEX, Networkx, and other optimization packages
Evidence of past research in the above areas through journal publications and technical reports
Ability to conduct research independently and in team arrangements, ability to mentor junior researchers

Pay and Benefits

Fixed Pay Rate: $30 per hour
