Fully Remote working position

The Trainer II - Coding Training Education role is responsible to prepare curricula, plan assignments, design assessments, evaluate progress, provide course material and answer ad hoc questions in the areas of coding for provider based surgical settings and/or hospital based surgical settings or inpatient coding. This role will participate in the creation and implementation of training programs, audit-based training, onboarding training and ad hoc training requests.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  1. Education: Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Administration, HIM, or related business field preferred.
  2. License/Certifications: Certification in one or more of the following areas: CPC, COC, CPMA, CHC, CPCO, CCS-P, RHIA, RHIT or CIC required.
  3. Experience: Three years of experience in surgery-based coding and/or inpatient coding experience required. Coding training or supervisory experience preferred. EPIC and 3M experience preferred.
  4. Additional Skills/Requirements Required: Proficient Microsoft Office skills.
  5. Additional Skills/Requirements Preferred: Knowledge of physician/ hospital billing practices, CMS regulations, CPT coding, along with knowledge of AHA Coding Clinic, commercial payer guidelines, state and federal healthcare regulatory guidance required. EMR experience preferred.
