12 month contract The Additive Operations Engineer position in the Additive Manufacturing Process and Capability Center (AMPCC) focuses on tasks to accelerate the industrialization of Additive Manufacturing (AM) processes, tools, and parts. This is a dynamic role involved in the internal operations of the AMPCC across a broad range of initiatives. The role will work closely with team members at the AMPCC as well as equipment OEMs and suppliers. They will be responsible for one or more of the following activities as they relate to the AMPCC, including:

Support operation of AM equipment and post processing of additively built parts
*
Troubleshooting lab equipment and processes
*
Improvement of 5S in the Additive Manufacturing areas
*
Develop standard work documents
*
Execution of various tests to support development activities
*
Analysis of test data and inspection of fabricated parts
*
Support installation, commissioning and verification of new equipment
*
Design and fabrication of test fixtures and tooling
*
Installation, modification and upgrades of Additive Manufacturing equipment
*
Support lab EHS activities and inspections
*
Execute AM process steps while driving process improvements and standardization
*Qualifications & Competencies
Candidate must be able to work effectively in a multidisciplinary, collaborative team environment focused on innovation and have demonstrated both verbal and written communication skills including:

Strong writing and verbal communication skills and ability to work with complex worksheets
*
Strong planning, problem solving, organizational, and project management skills
*
Hands on experience in a laboratory environment
*
Highly self-motivated and detail oriented
*
Advanced computer skills including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint packages
*
Experience with test instrumentation and data acquisition systems
*
Electromechanical troubleshooting
*
Experience with CAD packages
*
Excellent organizational and time management skills
*
A desire to learn something new every day
*Education & Experience
Candidate must have completed a BS degree in an engineering field.
