Maintenance Planner - Asphalt Department

Location: Summit Plant
Position Type: Non-Union
Pay Rate: $29 - $31 per hour (based on experience and skills)

About the Role:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Maintenance Planner to join our Asphalt Maintenance team. This role is critical in ensuring equipment reliability and maximizing machine uptime through effective planning and scheduling of maintenance activities. The Maintenance Planner will leverage mechanical expertise, process knowledge, and SAP proficiency to prioritize work requests, manage parts inventory, and develop accurate job plans.

This is a day-shift position reporting to the Maintenance Leader.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Champion a Zero Accidents Safety Culture, prioritizing safety in all planning activities.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance Technicians, and other stakeholders to ensure efficient workflow.
  • Develop and maintain accurate job plans, including scope of work, materials, manpower, and safety considerations.
  • Manage storeroom inventory, kit parts for work requests, and ensure BOM accuracy.
  • Support TPM initiatives and continuous improvement efforts by incorporating feedback into future plans.
  • Oversee contractors and assist during downtime, shutdowns, and emergency repairs.
  • Research parts, create requisitions, and ensure cost-effective sourcing.
  • Maintain backlog balance and convert notifications into work orders promptly.
  • Spend approximately 30% of time in the plant scoping work and identifying improvement opportunities.
  • Assist in root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurring failures.



Qualifications:



  • High School Diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of industrial maintenance experience (multi-craft skills required).
  • Familiarity with CMMS systems (SAP preferred).
  • Strong mechanical aptitude; electrical experience a plus.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and use precision measurement tools.
  • Computer literacy and ability to research parts and materials.



Physical Requirements:



  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and work in hot/cold environments.
  • Comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, and on ladders or platforms.
  • Must pass pre-employment background check, drug screen, and medical review.
