Your Job

Phillips-Medisize is seeking a Tooling Engineer to join our facility in Clinton, MA to provide regional technical expertise and leadership in the areas of DFM, tooling concepts/design, tool estimation, and continuous improvement. This will include customer interface, resolution of design issues, and working with other Phillips-Medisize facilities in a courteous, timely and cost-effective manner, as well as internal personnel.

This role will offer a $5,000 sign-on bonus to external employees.

Our Team

Phillips-Medisize is a Medical Device manufacturer. Our Clinton, MA facility runs up to 20 injection molding machines at a time. Successful candidates will have a strong understanding of plastic injection molding and the ability to run from set up to changeover.

What You Will Do

  • Develop and establish cost estimates, project options, and design alternatives.
  • Support programs regionally, and possibly globally, in coordination with the Principal Tooling Engineer.
  • Support, and occasionally, lead Tooling Council initiatives or continuous improvement activities.
  • Work to develop regional mold tooling vendors in conjunction with the Principal Tooling Engineer.
  • Partner with regional PMC tool manufacturing units to develop best practices and support key programs.
  • Actively pursue avenues to reduce tool build time and costs.
  • Travel to other facilities may be required to support business needs.
  • Actively participate in continual improvement/innovation, corrective action and internal/external customer satisfaction.
  • Utililize Solidworks and Mold Flow software.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Five (5) years or more tooling experience in the molding industry with (5) years of tool manufacturing experience.
  • Experience communicating with customers
  • Experience in Single & Multi-Shot tooling and part DFM required.

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering
  • Experience with engineering project management
  • Experience with tool build and design
