About the Content Team Williams-Sonoma, Inc. is the premier specialty, multi-channel retailer of home furnishings and gourmet cookware in the United States. The Creative Team at Williams Sonoma is made up of designers, art directors, writers, cooks, social media experts, content creators and visual merchandisers who bring the Williams Sonoma brand to life across all channels and engage with our customers at every touch point. Within that, the Content Team manages organic social, video, editorial strategy and copywriting, and recipe management-that's where you come in. Overview of the role The Recipe Content Manager & Editor is responsible for recipe concept development, recipe editing, and recipe/culinary content publication for the Williams Sonoma website, catalog and food sku packaging. This is a cross-functional role that works closely with the Williams Sonoma Test Kitchen, brand marketing, website ops, packaging and food development teams to produce content that adds value to the customer experience, as well as develops and execute strategies to leverage existing recipes and other culinary content. Responsibilities
- Work with the Test Kitchen and other team members to identify what recipes and other culinary content needs to be developed for website, catalog and packaging to support key seasonal stories and product launches - and to identify what existing recipes could serve that same purpose
- Own project management for the entire recipe development journey - for website, catalog and packaging - to keep stakeholders informed and ensure all deadlines are met
- Identify opportunities for leveraging recipes and other culinary content across various channels
- Work with designers and site merchandising teams to create online content pages that drive both customer engagement and sales
- Use analytical tools such as Adobe Analytics to track the success of culinary content and inform future decision making
- Manage the addition of recipes and other related culinary content to our website
- Maintain recipe database, including recipe metadata
- Write new menus and curate recipe collections to support seasonal marketing initiatives
- Build a library of culinary techniques, tips, articles, and other related resources - including writing and handing off website page briefs that support this content
- Work with food development and packaging teams to edit recipes for all food products
- Work with the catalog and retail signage teams to provide recipes and other culinary content needed for those channels
- Work with site ops to help implement improvements to the user experience of recipe and menu pages
- Serve as a culinary expert across the brand
Criteria
- BA/BS required
- 4 years of content management, recipe editing, publishing, culinary or similar professional experience
- Extremely strong recipe editing skills, from developmental editing to copyediting and proofreading
- Actively involved in the culinary community, with a thorough understanding of related trends and issues
- Extensive knowledge of food, cooking, and entertaining
- Familiarity with web content management systems and processes
- Established project management skills, with the ability to organize and prioritize efficiently
- Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to establish strong relationships with cross-functional teams at all levels
- Self-motivated and passionate about creating compelling customer-facing content
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Highly creative with strong conceptual capabilities
- Experience in print or digital publishing
- Ability to work off-hours and off-site necessary
- Ability to perform work onsite in the San Francisco office full-time pending state, local, and Company return-to-work guidance during and after the COVID-19 pandemic.
