Work Schedule
8:00 am - 5:00 pm; Monday - Friday with occasional evening and weekend hours required, as necessary.
Primary Purpose of Position
The position supports military affiliated students in the submission process to access their Veterans Affairs administered educational benefits. The position processes student requests for educational benefits and seeks to create an environment focused on student success and degree completion. The position directly interacts with student veterans and other military affiliated students and family members.
Minimum Education/Experience
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

University Preferred Qualifications:
Graduation from a four year college or university and one year of related experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Essential Job Duties

  • Experience guiding students and family members in a higher education setting.
  • Connect students to Veteran Affairs resources and educational support programs.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate with military-affiliated populations on how to effectively utilize education benefits for student success.
  • Ability to work independently within a larger team setting.

Other Work Responsibilities

  • Experience answering questions requiring the interpretation and application of complex information.
  • Ability to present complex information in a non-technical format to large groups of people.
    Represent UNC Charlotte MVS at internal and external meetings and events.

Departmental Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education

  • Demonstrated experience working in a detail oriented environment.
  • Commitment to customer service.
  • Experience completing repetitive administrative tasks.
  • Experience completing tasks requiring significant levels of data entry.
  • Experience in problem solving.
