Job Description

The Analyst is primarily responsible for assisting with data validation management and quality assurance, consistent with the requirements of the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA) and Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) and other various functions in connection with reporting and filing the HMDA LAR. Additional responsibilities may include to conduct periodic testing of compliance with laws and regulations in line with the Bank's compliance monitoring program; draft management reports on the testing results; provide analytical support to foster strong compliance with regulations; conduct root cause analyses of issues; assist in developing corrective action plans; help improve policies, processes, and procedures; work to minimize violations and prevent systemic compliance issues; and develop working relationships with the line of businesses.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Validate HMDA and CRA data completed by the business lines, correct errors, and provide feedback to reinforce Needham Bank's HMDA policies and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of regulatory compliance, including the disclosures of all loan files in accordance with RESPA, REG Z, ECOA, TRID, HMDA, Flood and other regulatory requirements as well as deposit related compliance requirement.
  • Stay abreast of regulatory changes and update procedures and work flows accordingly.
  • Complete regulatory filings ensuring accurate reporting and facilitate annual submission
  • Navigate the HMDA/CRA/Fair Lending systems by working with vendors to understand functionality, and maintain mapping procedures.
  • Compile data and assist with Fair Lending analysis and reporting.
  • Assist in the coordination and support of compliance audits and examinations.
  • Log and analyze errors to identify trends and provide ongoing guidance to the business lines.
  • Attends seminars, workshops, and specialized training as necessary to maintain and expand compliance knowledge.
  • Work with Asst Compliance Officer to conducts periodic testing/monitoring, as part of the compliance monitoring program, the institution's compliance with laws and regulations pertaining to all applicable areas of operation.
  • Effectively use tools and systems to be able to self-manage, organize and complete work independently, proactively recognizing potential obstacles and resolving them before they become an issue, and managing through deadlines.
  • Develop and draft reports to the business line management on results of the periodic testing/monitoring.
  • Draft corrective action plans, which include policies, procedures, and processes, to help foster regulatory compliance, minimize exceptions, and prevent systemic compliance-related issues.
  • Foster teamwork and collaboration with others across the Bank, building positive constructive working relationships, supporting the Bank's strategic plan, and demonstrating the Bank's core values.
  • Perform additional duties as requested, needed, or assigned.

Experience and Skills

JOB REQUIREMENTS



  • Deep knowledge of banking regulations and compliance requirements
  • Extensive ability to read, analyze and interpret government regulations
  • Strong verbal communication skills, business writing, proofreading, and editing abilities
  • Demonstrated commitment to teamwork and customer-service orientation
  • Time management- Ability to multi task and handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to participate and adapt to changes in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to plan, organize, and follow-through on initiatives to completion with attention to detail
  • Excellent analytical skills, including the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE



  • Bachelor's Degree or its equivalent plus specialized course work and training
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of demonstrated and compliance experience in the financial services industry
  • Professional certification preferred, encouraged, and supported
