Senior Data Storage Administrator (Cloud Architect) Job Summary B&A is seeking a Senior Data Storage Administrator (Cloud Architect) to design, implement, and manage enterprise cloud-based data storage solutions. The ideal candidate will possess deep knowledge of cloud technologies, data storage architectures, and security best practices, ensuring secure, efficient, and cost-effective storage strategies across multiple platforms. Responsibilities * Select appropriate cloud storage services (object, block, and file storage), design scalable storage architectures, and deploy solutions tailored to business needs. * Provision, configure, monitor, and maintain storage resources, ensuring optimal performance, capacity management, backup, and disaster recovery readiness. * Implement robust security measures, enforce data protection policies, and maintain compliance with regulatory standards and industry best practices. * Diagnose and resolve storage-related issues, ensuring high availability, performance, and security of data storage solutions. * Work alongside network engineers, developers, and security teams to integrate storage solutions within broader IT systems and architectures. * Continuously research and evaluate emerging cloud storage technologies, services, and best practices to recommend innovative solutions. * Offer expert advice and mentorship on cloud storage strategies to internal teams and stakeholders. * Create and update technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, SOPs, policies, and procedures for cloud storage solutions. * Analyze and recommend cost-effective storage solutions, balancing performance, scalability, and budget considerations. Education and Experience * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. * Minimum of 7 years of experience in software engineering or IT systems architecture. * At least 3 years of experience as a Cloud Engineer/Architect with a proven track record of leading cloud engagements and digital transformations. Required Skills * Experience with Azure or AWS. * Proficiency in developing technical strategies for cloud adoption and building cloud governance plans. * Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level III certification. * Meets Information Assurance Workforce (IAWF) Baseline Requirements, with at least one of the following certifications:
Desired Skills * In-depth knowledge of cloud storage technologies and architectures (AWS S3, Azure Blob, EBS, EFS, etc.). * Experience with hybrid cloud and multi-cloud environments. * Strong proficiency in automation and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation). * Familiarity with IT Service Management (ITSM) frameworks and integrations. * Expertise in enterprise data backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning. * Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, storage protocols, and security principles. * Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. * Ability to lead technical projects and interface with clients and executive stakeholders.
