Mid Shift - 12:30 pm - 8:30 pm, M-F

Primary Job Function:

Leads employees in performing a wide variety of production operations. Maintains workflow by ensuring availability of proper materials and tools. The lead is responsible for organizing and delegating work assignments while interacting with other departments in manufacturing to resolve challenges and production issues.

Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Drives shift performance and quality standards by leveraging resources to achieve production goals; tracks and reports production data daily.
  • Educates and trains employees in assigned areas on equipment, processes, quality checks, and documentation required.
  • Ensures accurate and timely production reporting in SAP to generate daily reports. Facilitates and audits entry process.
  • Conducts area shift meetings on a daily basis to communicate line status updates, production objectives, and any other information relevant to the shift.
  • Manages equipment reliability by monitoring equipment performance, troubleshooting failures, and inputting work orders. Works with maintenance to schedule repairs and develops preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Creates work assignments according to resource availability, production requirements, and skill levels. Schedules breaks and coverage for critical tasks.
  • Arranges and participates in employee focus groups to encourage knowledge transfer and skill development among co-workers.
  • Leads all personnel and operations on the shift; initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between shifts and departments.
  • Ensures safe operations through adherence to Environmental, Health, and Safety programs and procedures. Continuously drives the facility's culture toward a Safety conscious environment. Engages in safety initiatives and attends all safety related training.
  • Fosters an environment of Continuous Improvement with others by creating an environment for ownership and decision making for a given task area. Can be relied upon to guide employees' ambitions and attitudes toward solving problems as a team, remaining motivated as a team and moving each of the task areas forward within the business.
  • Maintains workflow by monitoring steps of the process, observing control points and equipment, monitoring personnel and resources and facilitating corrections to malfunctions within the operation.
  • Maintains process control by monitoring statistical information and reporting variations to Shift Supervisor or Operations Management.
  • Follows all DFA GMPs and works in a manner consistent with all corporate and regulatory, food safety, quality and sanitation requirements.
  • Other duties and or assignments determined necessary by management to ensure team success.


High School Diploma or GED

Ability to follow directions and communicate effectively

Ability to read, write, and speak in English

Leadership experience in manufacturing setting preferred
