Secretarial/Clerical/Secretary 5/13/2025 NORTH SPECIAL EDUCATION 25-26 School Year 05/27/2025 Secretary, Special Education REPORTS TO: Director and Assistant Directors of Special Education POSITION OBJECTIVE: The job of Secretary, Special Education is to provide support to the Special Education Department by efficiently managing communications, maintaining accurate records, scheduling meetings, and assisting in the coordination of services for students with special needs. The role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle confidential information while ensuring smooth operations within the department. The Secretary will also serve as a liaison between parents, staff, and external agencies, fostering a collaborative environment to support the academic and developmental success of students with disabilities. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Targeted, job related education with study in a job-related area. REQUIRED SKILLS:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
RESPONSIBILITY Responsibilities include: working under direct supervision using standardized procedures; leading, guiding, and/or coordinating others; utilization of some resources from other work units may be required to perform the job's functions. There is some opportunity to affect the organization's services. WORKING ENVIRONMENT The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 50% sitting, 25% walking, and 25% standing. This job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment.
