Job Description

What we're looking for:

We are looking for an experienced and driven Sales Manager to join our dynamic sales team. In this role, you will be responsible for driving revenue growth through new business development and managing relationships with existing clients. You will be selling our renewable energy market research solutions to a diverse range of clients including energy companies, financial institutions, consulting firms, and developers.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the renewable energy industry, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record in B2B sales, particularly in the areas of market intelligence, research, or data analytics.

Role Accountability and Duties:

* New Business Development: Identify, prospect, and secure new clients in the renewable energy sector, focusing on energy companies, investors, consulting firms, and government agencies.

* Sales Strategy: Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue targets, and contribute to the overall sales strategy and business goals.

* Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain long-term relationships with existing clients, ensuring their satisfaction with our products and services while identifying upsell and cross-sell opportunities.

* Product Knowledge: Maintain a deep understanding of our market research products and services, positioning them effectively to meet the needs of potential clients.

* Negotiations and Contract Management: Lead negotiations and close deals, ensuring that contracts meet both the clients' needs and the company's objectives.

* Market Insight: Stay informed about renewable energy market trends, emerging technologies, and competitor offerings to effectively position our products in the market.

* Collaboration: Work closely with the marketing, product, and research teams to ensure the solutions are tailored to meet client requirements.

* Reporting & Analysis: Provide regular updates and forecasts to senior management, track sales performance, and analyze key metrics to refine sales approaches.

* Events and Networking: Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and webinars, establishing a presence in the renewable energy market and expanding the company's network.

Qualifications

What you bring to the team:

* 3+ years of B2B sales experience, with a focus on renewable energy, energy market intelligence, data analytics, or a related field.

* A strong understanding of the renewable energy market, including key players, industry trends, and challenges.

* Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets, with experience in managing long sales cycles and complex negotiations.

* Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical information to a diverse range of clients.

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, able to identify and address client pain points with tailored solutions.

* Bachelor's degree in Business, Energy, Environmental Science, or a related field. Advanced degrees (MBA, M.S.) are a plus, and/or comparable experience.

* Familiarity with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce), Microsoft Office Suite, and the ability to quickly learn new sales-related technologies.

  • The pay range for this role is $80,000-$85,000 , plus commission
