The Senior UXD Researcher will serve as a strategic partner within our growing UXD team, which is responsible for driving innovation across key digital platforms. This role is crucial for developing a top-tier, insight-driven research practice that shapes product strategy, enhances user experiences, and informs design decisions across web, mobile, and employee-facing systems.
This position demands not only strong research expertise but also a genuine passion for understanding how users think, feel, and behave in digital environments. The ideal candidate will possess deep empathy for users, a knack for identifying unmet needs, and the ability to translate complex behaviors and emotions into actionable insights. As part of Digital Products team, the UXD Researcher will help transform user experience design into a strategic, insight-led function that drives meaningful transformation.

Job Duties
- Lead and conduct a range of user research studies including generative, evaluative, and exploratory, using methodologies aligned with business goals.
- Plan and execute qualitative and quantitative research methods such as interviews, surveys, diary studies, usability testing, and journey mapping.
- Translate findings into clear, compelling insights that inform product, design, and strategic decisions.
- Collaborate closely with designers, product managers, and stakeholders to embed research into the product development lifecycle.
- Develop and maintain a centralized research repository to support knowledge sharing and reduce duplication of efforts.
- Champion accessibility and inclusive design research, supporting the evolution of First Tech's experience lab for usability and accessibility testing.
- Present insights through storytelling, visualizations, and well-crafted reports to influence teams across levels.
- Contribute to the maturation of the VURUX research function by contributing to best practices, frameworks, and research operations.
- Advocate for research-led design and foster a culture of data-informed decision-making.
Essential Skills
- 5+ years of experience in UX research, ideally in digital product or financial services.
- Strong command of user psychology, behavioral insights, and experience interpreting both qualitative and quantitative data.
- Demonstrated ability to lead with empathy, curiosity, and a user-first mindset.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; able to influence cross-functional teams with clarity and confidence.
- Collaborative interpersonal skills; thrives in a team-oriented, agile environment.
- Familiarity with accessibility guidelines and inclusive design research.
- Proficiency with research tools (e.g., Dovetail, Maze, Qualtrics, Lookback, Figma, etc.).
- Working knowledge of HTML and CSS with Java or some coding skills a plus
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Minimum Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in HCI, Psychology, Design, Anthropology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Target Compensation inRocklin, CA 95765:
$132k - $148k annually + annual bonus
