We are currently seeking an Electricity Market Support Engineer to join our team! In this role you will be responsible for providing functional and technical expertise to projects and assignments pertaining to critical Business units in the organization. You will bring both engineering and IT perspective to the services and state-of-the-art solutions provided by the department.

How you will make an impact:
- Plan, coordinate, and perform complex technical assignments related to software applications in support of the Day Ahead Market Admin, FTR/ARR Market Admin, Forecasting Office, and Markets Monitoring groups
- Analyze, design, troubleshoot, recommend solutions and implement fixes associated with Market System applications
- Assist in the development of RFPs and evaluation of results
- Coordinate with consultants and vendors on project deliverables
- Test and validate changes to market applications
- Develop and maintain extensive knowledge of the Day Ahead and FTR Market applications
- Support Market Clearing Engine auditing
- Lead IT Support activities for one or more business areas
- Follow the Change Management and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) policies and procedures during the course of the work
What you need to be successful in this role:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering with concentration in Power Systems, Electricity Markets, or related field
- 5+ years of working experience as an Electricity Market Engineer or similar role in electric utility industry or electricity market application vendor companies.
- Experience with tools like PL/SQL Developer, or Oracle SQL Developer etc
- Excellent analytical, verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as a Team Lead
- Demonstrated experience dealing with challenging situations and communicating different problems to a wider audience
- Ability to participate in an on-call rotation, which may require working outside of standard business hours.
- Desired not required
- Master's or PhD degree in Power Systems, Electricity Markets or a related field
- Programming experience in Power System Market applications
- Experience with the GE Grid (previously ESCA or Alstom Grid) Market Systems
