TITLE: Electric Technician POSITION OBJECTIVE: To support the Maintenance Manager in all tasks & responsibilities. To practice pro-active maintenance through the implementation of an aggressive preventative maintenance program. QUALIFICATIONS:
- Basic Computer skills
- Excellent attendance
- Minimum 7 years previous experience in a manufacturing maintenance department
- Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary.
- Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Troubleshoot, maintain, repair and operate electrical equipment and components throughout the plant
- Design, build and install power systems and equipment control systems
- Provide support to technicians and production personnel to troubleshoot and repair equipment problems
- Gather and analyze data to support equipment improvement upgrades
- Program and modify PLC programs
- Program and modify HMI programs
- Determine, setup and maintain spare parts
- Develop, train, and conduct PM troubleshooting and safety procedures
- Gather and analyze data to generate monthly department performance reports
- Participate in 24 hour on-call activities as needed
- Other duties as assigned
- Monitors and enforces Food Safety Program.
OTHER INFORMATION:
- Comply with all written and verbal safety rules using PPE as required by department and plant safety programs.
- Identify and correct, in a timely manner, electrical problems in all areas of the plant including production equipment, material handling equipment, etc.
- Provide timely preventative maintenance support coordinating with production personnel.
- Maintain/complete all necessary forms, files and paperwork associated with the PM and work order programs.
- Responsible for ensuring that budgets and operating expense requirements are met in accordance with objectives.
- Responsible for good housekeeping in assigned and work areas
- Support maintenance manager
- Troubleshoot and repair DC and AC drive systems
- Troubleshoot and repair PCL systems
- Available for overtime and rotating schedules
- Any other duties or responsibilities as deemed appropriate by superiors.
- This position requires frequent "on call" status.

PHYSICAL AND VISUAL ACTIVITY REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION:
- Climbing, ascending or descending ladders, stairs and the like using feet & legs or hands & arms
- Stooping, bending body downward and forward by bending spine & waist. Kneeling, bending legs at knee to come to rest on knee or knees.
- Crouching, bending the body downward & forward by bending legs and spine
- Reaching, extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction. Standing, particularly for sustained periods of time.
- Lifting, raising objects from a lower to higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to position. Degree of lifting: 5-50 lbs.
- Fingering, picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working primarily with fingers rather than the whole hand or arm as in handling.
- Feeling, perceiving attributes of objects such as size, shape, temperature or texture by touching with skin, particularly that of fingertips
- Hearing, perceiving the nature of sounds with not less than a 40 dB loss @ 500 Hz, 1000 Hz and 2000 Hz with or without correction. Ability to receive verbal communications and make fine discriminations in sound, such as when making fine adjustments on machined parts.
- Balancing, maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing or crouching on narrow, slippery or erratically moving surfaces.
