Job Summary

The Line Lead supports the Site Leader, leadership team, and staff to execute operational objectives that support the annual operating plan. They oversee a manufacturing production operation and work with anywhere from 6-10 employees. They normally do all the production training, coaching on production/quality issues and daily reports. He or she makes decisions involving customer order, team members, operational issues, priority setting, and compliance with company policies, and all areas of the business.

Example Duties and Activities

  • Provides coaching and training to hourly employees on daily tasks.

  • Involved in the hourly associate recruitment process including pre screening and interviewing candidates, as needed.

  • Inspect materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions.

  • Read and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules, and other records and reports to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs.

  • Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals.

  • Confer with other supervisors and leaders to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments.

  • Observe work and monitor gauges, dials, and other indicators to ensure that operators conform to production or processing standards.

  • Adaptability - Maintains effectiveness when experiencing major changes in work tasks or the work environment; adjusts effectively to work within new work structures, processes, requirements, or cultures.

Other Requirements

  • Hard to Very Hard Physical Work - Is able to spend time in excess of 8 hours sitting, standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, and crouching. Uses hands to grasp, carry, feel, or touch both products and machinery. Has the ability to move and lift 50+ pounds. Can manage frequent exposure to moderate/loud noise.

  • Visual Acuity - Meets the screening requirements of 20/40 vision using both eyes with or without correction.

  • Minimum of 18 years of age
