Job Profile Summary:

Under the general direction of the Sr. Director of Product Management, the Associate Product Manager (APM) provides subject matter expertise, market intelligence and product planning support to maximize incremental revenue, adoption, and customer satisfaction for GPO product offerings. Working in a cross business and technology team environment, the APM tracks and identifies relevant market trends, researches customer needs, and supports opportunities for innovation growth and expansion. The APM works collaboratively to develop tools required for commercialization of the product/service assist the product management and training teams with the message through the Sales, Launch, Implementation, and Operations cycles. The APM must be able to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to assist in implementing service offerings

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supports Product Managers in their role as a lead strategist and subject matter expert for GPO products and services to both internal and external audiences.

  • Assists Product Management department in understanding and monitoring market developments, industry trends, risks, and customer needs to drive strategic direction for service line-related products and services by conducting market surveillance, and engaging existing customers, potential prospects and internal stakeholders.

  • Conducts service line-related competitive surveillance to provide Product Management with data to better understand the definition and size of market segments/opportunities, and identify opportunities to drive enterprise value in that environment.

  • Assists in the development of high-quality commercialization tools. This includes sales new and business development materials articulating the value proposition for items such as but not inclusive to: service capabilities, RFP language, pricing, implementation guides/plans/checklists, operational SOPs, scripts, and associate training materials that support new product features/innovations.

  • Supports the infusion of service line capabilities into business operations across GPO by conducting UAT, assisting with staff training, trouble-shooting, adoption planning/execution, and overall support for users and management consuming the capability.

  • Gathering the voice of customers and determine business-case and feasibility of enhancements to existing products/services through the creation of feature user stories.

  • Manage product/service backlog and corresponding JIRA stories to drive the overall product road-map.

  • Assist in managing service line-related vendors involved in operation of assigned service line capabilities. Includes supporting needs of routine business reviews and mining for additional value.

  • Conduct research to support the evaluation, prioritization, and execution of ideas for product development.

  • Assist with gathering key performance metrics for relevant products to monitor success and identify areas of opportunity for improvement.

  • Deliver excellent customer service and manage internal client expectations appropriately.

  • Perform related duties as assigned

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a business or healthcare-related field preferred or four (4) years of equivalent healthcare related experience.

MINIMUM SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Excellent customer service skills.

  • Operational program experience or experience in a position that provides support to operational program processes for at least one year

  • Ability to think strategically, applying business insight/acumen and demonstrating critical thought in a complex business environment.

  • Ability to construct a business case that illustrates opportunity and risk accurately based on information available.

  • Demonstrated effective professional communication (written and verbal), presentation skills and training skills.

  • Ability to prioritize workload and consistently meet deadlines; identify additional resource needs as necessary.

  • Ability to work independently and within a team setting with minimal direction/ supervision.

  • Ability to understand technical concepts and translate to operational processes.

  • Ability to understand operational processes and evaluate technical solutions.

  • Demonstrated success leading projects and being a member of project teams. Technical proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

  • Ability to learn and implement new concepts/skills with minimal lead time.

  • Ability to complete research in a thorough, thoughtful, and comprehensive way that demonstrates understanding and provides strategic insight.

  • Ability to conceptualize and validate new products and/or product strategies.

  • Ability to demonstrate a basic understanding of budgets, productivity, and other business concepts.
