Minimum Qualifications
Requires at least a baccalaureate degree in the field. Please contact your Human Resources office for an evaluation of education/experience in lieu of the required minimum qualifications.
Preferred Qualifications
Proficient in administrative tasks and functions and has a general understanding of construction processes and structural trades. One to three years of office and administrative experience in managing operations in a residential, hospitality, medical, or higher educational facility setting.
Position Summary
The assistant manager position will be responsible for day-to-day administrative tasks and supervision in directing of general skilled trades tasks of painters, floor covering mechanics, interior signage, and spray booth operating personnel. Will assist in overall operations and operate with autonomy within established boundaries. Assists in planning, organizing, and directing of
reporting shop personnel and will have regular meetings as needed with staff. Work is performed under the direction of the Structural Maintenance & Projects Shop Manager and is evaluated through observation in terms of project success and overall mission service to Campus. Activities and decisions will be varied in nature, requiring independent action and sound judgment in solving problems.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies

  • Thorough knowledge of the practices, methods, equipment, materials, and tools of the structural trades.
  • Communicates effectively (verbal & written) to our campus stakeholders and customer on a regular basis throughout project budget cycle.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and with initiative to ensure tasks and projects are ordered and delivered to job site on time and within budget.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, AiM & Onesource
  • Understanding of working in a fast-paced office environment
  • Ability to multi-task, set priorities, and resolve issues quickly

  • Work from a standard or extended ladder.
