HEALTH INSURANCE UNDERWRITER

Milliman, Inc. is seeking a HEALTH INSURANCE UNDERWRITER to support a fast-growing department in Omaha. The Omaha Health & Welfare practice was started 25 years ago to serve large employers in the design and administration of their employee benefit insurance plans. LOCATION
This position is based out of the Milliman office in Omaha, Nebraska. Candidates hired into this role must be willing to work onsite full-time.

JOB DESCRIPTION
This position will interact with all members of our staff as well as many clients. The primary challenges are the ability to handle multiple projects at the same time, the ability to interact with people with varied personalities and communication styles, and the flexibility to adjust resources as needed. Training and support are provided both corporately and locally. This position will have minimal travel requirements, if any. Some of the specific duties are listed below:

SKILLS & ABILITIES
* Preparing client deliverables (reports, letters, presentations) primarily with MS Excel and Word
* Responding to client requests for advice, information, explanations, or schedules through phone and e-mail
* Working with large insurance carriers such as Blue Cross Blue Shield, United HealthCare, Aetna and Cigna to collect data and other reports
* Exceptional administrative, organization and business skills. Friendly and engaging personality that enjoys meeting various types of people from all areas of the country.
* Natural attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects
* Ability to work independently within a team-based environment
* Flexibility within a customer first attitude
* 2-5 years of relevant experience required, 5 years preferred

RESPONBILITIES
* Prepare rating and plan design quotes within Milliman's underwriting models
* Ensure proposals are of highest accuracy and delivered on time
* Collaborate with clients to gather additional information needed for underwriting decisions or to explain underwriting outcomes
* Coordinate with Sr. Leadership and Account Management for complex situations
* Provide feedback with opportunities for improvement in our rating models, processes or client interaction

COMPENSATION
A combination of factors will be considered to determine the compensation for this role, including, but not limited to, education, relevant
work experience, qualifications, skills, certifications, etc.
