  • Nuclear Licensing experience Part 70 or Part 50
  • Operational experience at a nuclear facility
  • Work with regulatory agencies both federal and state
  • Working knowledge of nuclear, construction, and quality codes & standards
  • Ability to work with and direct cross-disciplinary technical teams
  • Knowledge of Fuel Cycle Facility regulations and practices, NRC, EPA, OSHA, and other national, state, and local regulatory agency requirements
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of staff and management
  • Demonstrated strong problem identification and resolution skills with emphasis on "root cause" analysis
  • Demonstrated strong business and/or technical expertise in a related capacity
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

As a Principal Licensing Engineer in Richland, WA, you will be part of the proven team in the Licensing & Compliance Business Line in the Fuel Business Unit. The Licensing & Compliance function of the Environmental Health Safety and Licensing (EGS&L) has responsibility for all aspects of facility licensing. The Licensing and Compliance function includes a functional manager responsible for program development and implementation and staff management. These functions include Facility Licensing, Material Control and Accounting, Health Physics, and Environmental Protection. Your work will include:



  • Taking the lead on assigned licensing efforts with the U.S. NRC, U.S. State Department, Washington State Department of Health, Washington State Department of Ecology, Benton County Clean Air Agency, and the City of Richland.
  • Advise other Framatome organizations on regulatory requirements associated with 10CFR 20, 10CFR 51, 10CFR 70, 10CFR 71, 10CFR 74, and WAC 246-220-250 as it applies to the Nuclear Fuel Manufacturing business.
  • Provide client input regarding regulatory requirements associated with the Licensing and operating of Nuclear Fuel Cycle Facilities.

Framatome's Richland, WA facility is a licensed nuclear fuel manufacturing site and complies with US Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and US Department of Energy (DOE) regulations. Your Total Rewards Package

The range of base salary for the position is between $123,000 - $167,000, and may also include annual incentives, performance bonuses and benefits. Please note that the base salary range is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
