POSITION & REQUIREMENTS SUMMARY:

The Logistics Manager will oversee and streamline all aspects of logistics and inventory management, ensuring optimal material flow, and efficient supply chain operations. This role is key in achieving high standards in logistics, inventory control, and employee engagement, focusing on continuous improvement, margin enhancement, and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in lean methodologies, supply chain best practices, and leadership within a dynamic environment.

  1. Logistics and Inventory Management:
    • Oversee inventory management, including raw materials, packaging, and finished goods, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and production schedules.
    • Maintain accurate inventory levels, conduct regular cycle counts, and lead the annual physical inventory process to ensure data accuracy and inventory control.
    • Develop, implement, and maintain KPI metrics for quality, customer satisfaction, and carrier performance, regularly presenting reports to management.
    • Manage all inbound and outbound logistics, ensuring compliance with routing guides and efficient use of resources.
    • Support supply chain pipeline strategies and collaborate with supply chain partners to optimize inventory needs.
  1. Team Leadership and Employee Development:
    • Lead, train, and engage logistics and inventory control teams, fostering a positive, goal-oriented environment.
    • Develop staffing and cross-training plans, ensuring coverage and skill readiness across all team functions.
    • Actively coach and mentor team members to drive continuous improvement, uphold high standards, and enhance team cohesion.
  1. Budget and Asset Management:
    • Manage the department's budget and regularly report on costs, ensuring alignment with financial goals.
    • Allocate, track, and manage assets, including fixed assets and equipment disposal for obsolete items.
    • Oversee loaner and demo programs for fixed assets, ensuring assets are accounted for and maintained.
  1. Collaboration and Communication:
    • Work closely with various departments, including Engineering, Finance, Marketing, and Customer Service, to coordinate logistics and support event planning.
    • Lead regular meetings with senior management to report on inventory and logistics metrics and address strategic objectives.
    • Ensure effective communication of daily production assignments and progress updates to the team.
  1. Compliance and Safety:
    • Enforce all safety protocols, ISO9001/QMS procedures, and ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards.
    • Maintain security for proprietary information and enforce company policies and standards.
  1. Continuous Improvement and Problem Solving:
    • Analyze data and identify root causes of inefficiencies, suggesting improvements for long-term reliability and efficiency.
    • Lead departmental improvement projects, collaborating with supporting departments to drive key initiatives related to inventory management and process efficiency.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, or Business, Operations

Required:

  • Minimum of 5 years in supply chain or logistics management within manufacturing or assembly; 10+ years preferred.
  • Proficient in Lean/Six Sigma concepts with formal Lean certification.
  • Advanced project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, ERP/MRP systems, and logistics software.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills

Travel Requirements: Minimal (0-10%)
